Project Status
The DOH has implemented the Intercity Motorway Project (M82), Bang Khun Thian – Ban Phaeo Section, in the following sequential order:
- Completed Works:
- Feasibility Study on Economics and Engineering & Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) – Completed in 2014;
- Detailed Design – Completed in 2015;
- Approval of the EIA Report by the National Environment Board (NEB) in 2019
- Work in Progress: The DOH is in the process of implementing the following 2 parts of work simultaneously:
- Civil Works: The DOH is responsible for construction of the roadway and the elevated structure under the project, which is divided into 2 phases as follows:
Phase 1: Bang Khun Thian – Ekkachai Section The construction was commenced in August, 2019 and separated into 3 contracts.
The government budget amounted Baht 10,500,000,000 is used for construction, which is expected to be completed in June, 2024.
The Civil Works for Phase 1: Bang Khun Thian – Ekkachai Section
- Phase 2: Ekkachai – Ban Phaeo Section The construction was commenced in February, 2022 and separated into 10 contracts.
The toll revenue amounted Baht 19,700,000,000 is used for construction, which is expected to be completed in April, 2025.
The Civil Works for Phase 2: Ekkachai – Ban Phaeo Section
- System Works: The DOH is in the process of calling for Public-Private Partnership for operation and maintenance (O&M) of the project. The Draft Invitation to Bid, Draft Request for Proposal (RFP) and Draft PPP Contract will be prepared respectively.
The 2 parts of work specified above will be implemented in the following manners:
